Santorum suspends

Rick Santorum suspended his presidential campaign. AtheistsForSantorum has no campaign debt to retire, so I can just be done.

The immediate political battle for me continues at FireFifty, and the larger battle for control of our lives through control of our minds through control of our language continues at protein wisdom.

I decided to support Rick Santorum for President in January of this year. One component of that decision was my belief that Mitt Romney would lose to Barack Obama. I think the reasons for that still stand. Unless? No. It is too close to home.

At least I am failing fast at these various approaches to having an impact. On to Plan F.

BTW, Catholicism is less dangerous than Black Liberation Theology.

The President doesn’t think you are stupid per se

A Missive from a non-believer to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops

We enter a very strange and sad time in American history, and this appeal from a nontheist to the Catholic Church, requesting that you defend the Enlightment ideals embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the American Constitution, is atypically bizarre in this double-think media construction we inhabit, where diversity as practiced requires uniformity of thought, where Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof has been twisted into a secular public square, and a moral and ethical objection to participating in birth control and abortion is straightfacedly portrayed as a War on Women.

Believing in the teachings of your Catholic faith is on the way to being a hate crime. If you don’t see that coming, you need to spend some more time with your Chinese and Eastern European brethren. Not that just being a Catholic will be a hate crime. But believing; honestly, earnestly believing what the faith teaches, and practicing what your conscience demands? The Administration has given you their position on that: no quarter. And you know how the People’s Ridicule Brigade (and their junior partners in the news media) frame you and your beliefs.

This attack on religion is vile to the overwhelming majority of Americans, when the issue is presented fairly. But the Democrat Media Complex has spent six weeks(months?) preventing that fair discussion, trying to change the subject and conflate very separate issues, always pushing the Big, simple, stupid lie that the issue is access to contraception. That false reality can not be allowed to stand. As soon as that media construct is pierced, the heinous nature of this edict against the First Amendment will be abundantly clear, and support for the State mandate position will completely collapse.

There is a way for the Catholic Church to break through that protective media screen: unabashed, unadulterated, full-throated defiance. A categorical refusal to submit. A bishop nailing a declaration to the door of the White House: we will retreat to our churches before we are forced to actively participate in this perversion of our spiritual mission.

That is a tremendous potential sacrifice, but it is only when you are truly prepared to make that sacrifice that it might be avoided.

Please, lead in this effort to preserve the last best hope of man on Earth.

And you might want to give some thought to Santorum 2012.

First Annual Andrew Breitbart Coming Out Day

My name is Gene Alexander. I was motionview. I can no longer remain anonymous, in part because I have been outed, though the outing is surely even more obscure than the work I’ve been doing at Fire Fifty, Atheists For Santorum, and protein wisdom. More importantly, I have come to accept the reality that if we will not stand up publicly and say the true things we know about Barack Obama and the rest of the Socialists in Democrat garb, the American Experiment is concluded.

I picked today for the First Annual Andrew Breitbart Coming Out Day because I understand Andrew liked to hoist a glass or two, and today is certainly a good day for that. So have a couple of beers, gird your loins, and sing it sister.

I’m out there baby, and I’m loving every minute of it.

Can we tell the truth about Barack Obama?

Can our candidate stand up, face the American people, and tell the truth about Barack Obama?

Can we win if our candidate says hard, true things about Barack Obama?

Can we win if we don’t say these true things about Obama? That one is not rhetorical. Of course not. We lose before we start if we accept battle within our opponent’s distorted construct of media reality.

We must say the true things we know about Barack Obama, or our arguments make no sense.

Barack Obama is a lying socialist. The evidence is so overwhelming that it is only the iron grip on the thought propagation apparatus by those not-yet-retired fucking hippies and their ideological drones in the younger generations that pushes that reality out of the bounds of civilized discourse, and brands those who decline to lie about what Barack Obama really is as being a little nuts.

Can an academic support Santorum?

Is it possible to be a member in good standing of a college or university faculty in 2012 and openly support Rick Santorum? Or is that support in and of itself evidence of sexual preference discrimination according to the rules of those tolerant centers of diversity and higher learning tax-payer supported indoctrination centers?

Well, maybe we should start with “Can an academic support a political candidate in class?”, which answer used to be no and which answer now is of course, for the right candidates. The last vestiges of high-minded liberal fair-play have been swept away by the Progs. The Long March through the institutions, the application of Stalin’s control-the-committees approach to facilitating power, has led to the situation that academia is so politically lopsided that support for the Leftist in any race is a given; the only arguments are between the Liberals and the Progressives.

The lopsidedness is beyond dispute, either in political contributions(Stanford, UC, and Harvard right up there with Goldman, Google, and JP Morgan) or voter registration.

At Columbia University, for instance, the CSPC could identify only 6 faculty Republicans and could not locate a single Republican in the History, Political Science, or Sociology departments. Cornell University was just as left-leaning: the departments of English and History were entirely devoid of registered Republicans.

By most college and university policies and the AAUP standards, faculty members are not supposed to endorse individual political candidates in class. Political candidates can be discussed, and used in examples, but the faculty member is purportedly just using the politician as a teaching tool. Here is where indoctrination occurs, and here is where the political preferences of the agit-propping faculty member are expressed. The Left denies that anything like that takes place in classrooms. They are lying, and we all know it.

So let’s imagine you are teaching 20th Century history, discussing Ronald Reagan and Reagan Democrats. If you also say “Rick Santorum is currently trying to appeal to those same voters” and do not immediately follow that with a denunciation of his views on gay marriage and his views on government funded birth control, what would happen?

Warning: DO NOT ATTEMPT WITHOUT TENURE.

Santorum 2012. Being a Catholic is not a h8 crime.

The People’s Ridicule Brigade

Alinksky Rule 5: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.

Conservatives and TEA Partiers have been ridiculed by the Left for reading and quoting Alinsky in these current political battles. The absurdity of the position just adds to the appeal for the Ridicule Brigade members making the charge. So what is the the People’s Ridicule Brigade, and how are they getting 20-somethings to laugh and laugh and laugh as those kids get indentured by the Progs?

Our politic is split, not just the Left / Right split, and not just the individualist / authoritarian split, but the split between those who are committed to voting on an ideological basis and those who are not. Those who are committed on an ideological basis are extremely consistent voters. The people who are not ideologically committed, on the other hand, are very fickle. To give a most blatant example, these folks voted for Barack Obama and Democrats in 2008, and the TEA Party and Republicans in 2010.

Among the people who switched from Barack Obama to the TEA Party there are two groups: rational voters, who did not really understand what they were getting with Obama and just hoped to get the whole race thing behind us, and post-rational voters. The rational voters are not going back to Obama. The post-rational voters, as always, are up for grabs. Post-rational voters are not swayed by arguments. They vote on tone, they vote on momentum, they go along with the group. They are very susceptible to preference cascading.

And they decide all of our elections.

The Left knows this. The Long Marches through the entertainment media, the news media, academia, are entirely about this. It is battlespace preparation. It is about softening up those post-rational voters, making sure they are amenable to the agit-prop to come. This is the long-term approach, and it has been very effective. But for immediate, tactical action, it is too diffuse and slow. What is also needed is a quick reaction force that can cut through any reasoned discussion and just turn the ridicule hose on full blast at today’s enemy of choice.

That is the mission of the People’s Ridicule Brigade. Apply Rule 5 to the enemies of the Regime. Nothing is off limits.

And the Brigade has responded with vigor. Ten years and of relentless, unceasing, de-humanizing attacks on George W. Bush. The world’s fastest ridicule hatchet job on Sarah Palin, which they carried on way past her being a viable candidate. The Santorum neologism. The relentless ridicule assault on Republicans, Conservatives, TEA Partiers, on network programs:

  • NBC and Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock
  • HBO and Bill Maher
  • ABC and Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Jimmy Kimmell
  • Comedy Central and Jon Stewart, Steven Colbert, and any other original (hmmph) content they produce

And of course there is continuous communication and collaboration, with the Ridicule Brigade writing material for the White House Team and coming next fall
the White House writing comedy, with Obama speechwriter Jon Lovett. Think Aaron Sorkin without the 72-hour-cocaine-binge charm, or the talent. And note the link location – PuffHo is quite the facilitator.

Obama 2012. When the masses are not mature enough for plain talk about socialism, there’s always ridicule, and the People’s Ridicule Brigade.
